02/06/08 Jane Does vs Epstein (Federal Court)

Jane Doe #2 from Virginia was 16 in 2004-05 when she was recruited to give Epstein a massage. She was taken to his mansion, he exposed himself, they had sexual intercourse, then he paid her $200. She was suing for $50 Million.

03/2008 Jane Doe represented by the same lawyer as Jane Doe #2 filed a similar $50M suit with similar allegations.

2008/06/25 Jane Doe 1 vs Epstein, Haley Robson & Sarah Kellen, US Southern District Court of Florida

Both cases were settled out of court with many other undisclosed lawsuits that existed in 2008.

*Still Pending* 12/30/2014 Jane Does vs United States (Victim's Rights) (State of Florida)

Jane Doe 1 (Courtney Wild) & Jane Doe 2 sued the US DOJ for violating the Crime Victim Rights Act of 2004. In 2008, the DOJ accepted an NPA Agreement from Epstein in exchange for a guilty plea, sparing the expense of a lengthy trial. This prevented Epstein's victims from obtaining evidence about their crimes to file for damages, and all documents remained sealed. Jane Doe 3 (Virginia Roberts) and Jane Doe 4 were also plaintiffs in the original suit, but the judge ruled only JD1 & 2 could file suit, but that JD3 and JD4 could still testify in the trial.

JD3 (Virginia Roberts) made claims about other high-profile people like Alan Dershowitz and Prince Andrew. The judge ruled it was outside the scope of the Epstein lawsuit and she was removed as a plaintiff. A John Doe (Alan Dershowitz) filed an affidavit denying all allegations by Virginia Roberts and stated he was present both places she alleged but that he was always with his wife & children, and never saw any younger women on the island. He filed suit against the lawyers and this further prevented Virginia Roberts from being added to the case because it would hurt the other girls' credibility. On April 07, 2015 Judge Kenneth Marra ruled the Prince Andrew allegations were outside the scope of the suit, and Virginia was separated from the suit.

JD1 & JD2 Florida suit stated Epstein "ran a sexual abuse ring" and lent underage girls to "prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known foreign Prime Minister, and other world leaders." The purpose of the lawsuit is to overturn the Federal NPA with the DOJ which protects all co-conspirators alleged in Epstein's 2008 plea bargain which was greatly reduced to only 2 charges.

On 02/21/2019 Senior Judge Kenneth Marra of the US Southern District Court of Florida ruled Federal prosecutors violated the Crime Victim's Right Act by not notifying the victims in other states that Epstein was pleading out to only the two allegations in Florida. They were not given a chance to join the criminal trial and were not named as victims in the financial plea bargain. This forced them to file a separate lawsuit against Epstein to prove damages rather than join the existing Federal Indictment, and also allowed Epstein's crimes prior to 2008 to be pardoned along with all co-conspirators, even those who remain unnamed that may charged in the future.

There isn't any update on this case since then but the Judge's ruling might allow Epstein victims prior to 2008 to sue his alleged co-conspirators like Dershowitz & Prince Andrew. As long as they are unofficially pardoned from any criminal charges, nothing more can be done.

It appears Epstein arranged a quick plea bargain in the state of Florida that also covered a Virgin Islands Case, making it a Federal matter, and then took a Federal plea bargain because there was another case pending with 40 alleged victims, so he signed an NPA with his coconspirators which protected himself from being sued for damages and protected them from being named in lawsuits or criminal charges, and he was protected from prosecution for the other 40 victims.
